I'm looking for feedback from organizations that have completed the Payroll conversion from Accounting for Non Profits to Financial Edge. We did the General Ledger & Accounts Payable conversion on our own and had no issues and we're now considering doing the Payroll conversion. I would like to know the issues other organizations have had after doing the conversion on their own as well as any issues faced when Blackbaud does the conversion.

We have been testing our data for the last few weeks.
Today our IT staff will back up our payroll 6 version data. She will start the conversion process which takes seven hours. On Monday we plan on going live and to produce our first payroll using the payroll 7 version.
I will provide an update next week once the checks have been created and we have a feel for creating the payroll checks in the converted system.

Thanks so much for keeping me updated on this process. I am anxiously waiting to hear how it works for you. At this point I fully intend to do the conversion myself as I did with the GL & AP conversion. I also appreciated the phone call from you and Sandy and the info you shared with me on the entire process. I hope going live works well for you and look forward to hearing from you on the results.

Last Monday we successfully created our first payroll checks in the converted system.
We have had some challenages in creating new reports / query reports. It is a matter of hunting and pecking until the we figure out the new system.
I did miss a couple tax flags in the State tax setting so I had to create a journal entry to fix but nothing major. Do keep a copy of your old data base availabe so that you can look at your report / query settings in order to compare with the new system.

Jeff that is great news. We are going to proceed with the conversion on our own as well. I'm going to set up the test box as soon as I get the software from Blackbaud. I think it's really important that people know that doing the conversion on their own is a possibility and through this forum you've done that. Thanks so much and I may be calling you for guidance at some point.
