Using API to import into batch?

I know we can't be the only ones with this issue. Blackbaud won't let you import gifts into batch through the UI. Will they allow you to do so using API? Has anyone else had this issue, and if so, have you found a workaround?

Not sure what you mean by "Importing gifts into Batch using the UI". We don't use the Batch feature ourself here and I'm not terribly familiar with it. But if I did need to import a bunch of gifts from an input file, with VBA it would be possible to write code to do so. The input file of new gifts would need the constituent ID, Import ID, or SSNO if your database uses that. The key would also need to be unique in your database. (This is always the case with Import ID and is usually the case with ID) - Tom [Email Removed])

Elizabeth, You post is a little old... hopefullly you found a soution by now! However... There really is no way to import into a batch. There is also little VBA functionality available for batching. I would suggest importing the gifts through the RE Import utilitiy. Although you will not get a batch number for the gifts and no record of them in batch, you can at least get the gifts created as if you had created the individual gift records. I actually like to think of the batch utility as a fancy gift import. Joe
