    Huge Event - Feedback, Please

I've worked with RE and most of its optional modules for a number of years but am faced with a daunting task.  We'll be managing an event for 2,800 -- theater style.  Since tickets are free, we're doing "general admission" seating, or first come, first served, as long as you have a ticket -- in other words, no seat assignments.  We expect that all registrations will come through NetEvent.

On one hand I think that this is probably the most "vanilla" event I've managed.  On the other hand, I'm concerned abuot processing speeds of Event.  It seems to slow significantly as the number of partcipants increases.  I'm running 7.83.1622.4.

Does anyone have related experience or thuoghts on this?

    Thanks,

    Cathy

    Cathy,

We experienced some of the same "drag" when we had the gala opening (WITH seating assignments) for our new Arts facility last year. It really only affected the actions that were trying to access event information and cleared up after the event was completed. I do believe I went back and removed all nametag information and the seating assignments to try to "free up" some computing power.

If you continue to experience less than optimum performance levels I would suggest you call the support line for further archiving help.

Hang in there and good luck!
