This month's issue of Fundraising Well talked about Twitter and discussed ways a nonprofit organization can benefit from this popular social networking tool. Already using Twitter? Have any thoughts or questions? We'd love to hear about them.
NASA's Phoenix Mars Lander has a Twitter account and is updating its followers on its mission on Mars. Obviously the Lander itself isn't tweeting, someone from NASA is sending out the updates, but it's done in a helpful, interesting and almost cute way. It's posting images and answering questions. It has almost 16,000 people following it's updates as of this post. I know NASA isn't a nonprofit, but it's a great example of using social networking to highlight and promote a cause or mission.
