Has anyone created a custom report to use for their transcripts?  We need to do a few things that we can not do using the standard transcripts.  We are new to the system and would appreciate any information.

 I'm sure that a lot of people have ran into this problem.  I tried to talk to Blackbaud about it but they didn't understand what I meant.

We created a custom report for our report cards - which we use as transcripts for our 8th graders.  We built several queries to gather all the information we needed, exported the data to Excel and then created our document from there.  Frequently the canned reports in Education Edge do not meet our needs.  But so far, with query and export I've been able create my own. 

We have used a Crystal Report for transcripts for several years now and just updated the look with better graphics last year. 

In the early days ( 5-7 years ago), a lot of the transcript used formulas to get the look we wanted, but in the more recent versions, Blackbaud enabled fields that would make things easier.  Think sequence numbers, sort fields, etc.

 The nice thing about Crystal is that you can export your data fields for Access in Blackbaud Export and create a nice report.  When you are happy with with it, you can post it back as a Custom Report.
