Country duplicate, but cannot find all of them through query

    Dear all,

We unfortunately have a duplicate country entry and I have created many queries in order to merge them into one. I have done constituent, participant, relationship queries and I cannot track down the last few entries so I can delete the duplicate. Is there anything obvious that I am missing? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

     Many thanks!

    Charlotte

Re: Country duplicate, but cannot find all of them through query

We had this problem with Contact Type and discovered, in part, it was because we weren't quering all the potential places it could be "hiding."  Case # 8413822  describes the Find Feature within the Query function that was particularly helpful in identifying all the random places where the data was stored where we weren't looking.  Although it didn't completely solve our problem, it made us all :) to discover it!

My suggestion would be, rename the duplicate countries in the International options under Configuration somthing like Germany & Germany1 then you can create a simple querry to group all the duplicates. Once you are done with that, you can use global change to replace Germany1 to Germany and the get rid of the Germany1. Since we are changing the source, we need not to run after each instance of te duplicates. Hope it makes sense

    Applicable Product(s): Raiser's Edge 7, Raiser's Edge Enterprise

Solution Title:  How to download and run the Delete Countries plug-in

The Delete Countries plug-in allows the user to delete Country table entries that are not in use in the database.

If your software is hosted through Blackbaud OnDemand, refer to How to run a plug-in in a hosted environment.

Note: Before you proceed with the following instructions, we recommend you back up the database.

Note: Print and read all of the following instructions before running the plug-in.
    1. Log in to the workstation as a local administrator
    2. Download the appropriate plug-in for your version of The Raiser's Edge:

      Plug-in name Use with version:
      DeleteCountries_771.exe 7.71 to 7.84
      DeleteCountries_760.exe 7.60 to 7.70
      DeleteCountries_703.exe 7.50

    3. Save the EXE file to the local hard drive of any workstation with The Raiser's Edge 7 installed
    4. Double-click the EXE file
    5. When prompted, unzip the files into the \Plugins folder on the workstation. The EXE file is a self-extracting zip file which contains a DLL and a VBD file.
    6. Register the DLL file on the workstation
    7. Have all other users exit and sign out of The Raiser's Edge
    8. Log into The Raiser's Edge
    9. Click Plug-Ins from the navigation bar. The Plug-Ins screen appears.
    10. Click the Delete Countries link
    11. Follow the prompts

Here is the problem or goal:
How to download and run the Delete Countries plug-in

    Problem Environment:
    Delete Countries
    DeleteCountries_771.exe
    DeleteCountries_760.exe
    DeleteCountries_703.exe
