    Active Directory Integration

Hi, I was wondering if anyone here is using FAWeb with some sort of Single Sign on or active directory integration for faculty accounts.

    Thanks,

    Chris & Rich,

We are in the process of implementing Blackbaud Net Community (BBNC/OCC), and just had a discussion about single sign on yesterday.  We're hoping to find someone who has used Active Directory, or something similar with any BB product or group of BB products.

Any information about it or suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated!

     Thanks,

    Re: Active Directory Integration

    Hello all,

we're using the NetCommunity and Active Directory.  We're doing our best to achieve single sign on, but the problem is, NetCommunity requires itself to be the authentication source.

Our work around has been quite painful.  We first create the account in Blackbaud AO.  We then export a spreadsheet and use PowerShell to create AD Accounts.  We then take the info produced by AD and import back into EE's "online user and password."  We then must synchronize with NetCommunity, at that point, NetCommunity locks the backend from being able to manage the account.  NetCommunity does not have the ability to administer accounts in Mass so we have to be sure to get it right the first time.  Otherwise, all administration must be performed on a user by user basis.

All that to say, we've achieved a single sign on, but it's VERY painful and clunky.  We're hoping for better developments.

If anyone else has found a better way, please let us know.

    Thanks,

    Danny

    Chris,

I know it's been a while since you've made this post, but yes, we are using single sign on.

It's definitly not pretty, but we're getting it done.

Feel free to contact me if you would like.
