I am wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to remove multiple membership records in the upper panel of the membership tab. It is causing us issues when we go to run queries because often both active and lapsed memberships will show. Basically, I'm looking for a way to have just the most current membership standing showing in a record, and to have the membership history on the botton panel of the record. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Nancy Preston

We have that same problem.  Even when asking for the current membership in the query it might pulled the lapsed one.  In some cases it is conducive to delete the lapsed one and in others we don't want to loose that history.

I am not entirely sure what you mean -  If you mean the membership screen you can click on Active to the left which then will only list the active memberships for that constituent.  I would advise you to keep lasped memberships and not delete them, but supress them visually this way.

If you mean in a query you can choose in the criteria section to see all current memberships where the standing is active, this way you will suppress the lapsed members.

A couple of years late to this thread, but pertinent nonetheless... I would love to hear if there is any solution. We have hundreds of records like this... Charlotte, the problem is that when we run a mailing list, say to dropped members, I have to run the list against a list of all the active members, so we aren't sending a mailing that says, "Join us" when they already are members... It would be great to nip this problem in the bud without running lists against one another... Thanks, Alex
