American Red Cross: Business Systems Unit Lead - Data Quality Supervisor

    American Red Cross: Business Systems Unit Lead - Data Quality Supervisor


    Lead, Data Quality

    Development Services serves the information and technical needs of the Development department at the American Red Cross. It safeguards donor intent while enhancing donor data and the functionality of the donor database (the core of all Red Cross fundraising efforts). Under the direction of the Business Systems Manager, the Analyst provides support that advances the Red Cross mission through donor-centered fundraising and builds capacity in Development for disasters. The Analyst maintains security within fundraising and adjunct applications, ensuring appropriate protocols are followed and appropriate levels are given. This role includes detailed root cause analysis; correction within the application; understanding of data, data issues on data integrity and the impact of duplication in the database.


    Responsibilities:
    Acts as a subject matter expert and resource to staff by providing ad hoc analysis of database functions and business processes. Gathers business requirements from users, analyzes national headquarters databases and provides solutions and resources for cleaning and improvement. Interfaces with IT to identify, communicate and resolve issues and to test new processes within the fundraising application. Acts as a team lead on all IT projects for Business Systems, including creating metrics of Business Systems involvement with IT projects. Serves as a secondary resource for technical training and database user support via telephone assistance, web-based instruction and hands-on training. Assists with resolving clarify cases as necessary. Serves as backup for maintaining security within fundraising and related applications. Conducts User Acceptance Testing (UAT) on database improvements. May assist management in external audit review. Creates standard operating procedures or manuals on technical processes for the unit.


    Qualifications:
    A Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Business Administration, Information Systems or a relevant field, preferably in a fundraising or not-for-profit environment. Five to seven years experience in training, user support, business applications or systems analysis. Experience in database management, an understanding of relational databases and ability to read/translate a database schema. Understanding of technical problems and solutions. Demonstrated knowledge of strategic planning, tactical execution and project management. Experience managing projects, delegating tasks and overseeing the work of others is important. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Accurate data entry skills and strong attention to detail. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Excellent organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills. Highly refined teamwork skills. Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines in a flexible, timely manner. Respect for confidentiality of data. Advanced-level skill with Raiser’s Edge (or similar donor management system) is essential. Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office products is required. Experience with Clarify case management software is desirable. Database querying tools including SQL is beneficial. Operational flexibility to meet sudden and unpredictable business needs, willingness to work outside standard established business hours, and a moderate amount (10-15%) of business travel are necessary.
