    Mailing House Truncating Labels

I just received word from our publications department that the mail house they use truncates the labels we give them to 45 characters.
This is a problem for us, because many of our addressees have different last names, different titles, etc. which go beyond the allotted character number.
Our primary addressee always includes both the person on Bio 1 and the Spouse, if there is one.
I don't have an addressee other than that which would include both people and would be found on every record in the database.
What would be the best way to deal with this issue?
The publication they're writing about goes out quarterly, to a population which changes each time, depending on constituent giving, etc. Maybe I will just need to export the titles and everything into a csv file and get it to the mail house that way. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. They're waiting for a solution from me.

This is not a quick solution but one whish we have had to do to solve this problem. We have 2 additional salutation/addressees called Primary Addressee Line 1 and Primary Addressee Line 2. We have gone to all of our records that include both the constituent and the spouse in the addressee and populated these fields with each person on a separate line. When we use addressees within RE we can use the full primary addressee because RE will divide them properly but when we export we export the 2 separate lines as well and our mailhouse uses these as 2 lines. That is the short version. I can try to explain more to anyone who wants to try this solution. It is not ideal and RE thought it was a good workaround but it is labor intensive on the data entry side.

Thanks, Melissa. I would be interested in hearing the details, so that I can offer the department an alternative.
