As an organization, we recently began discussing how to start using email and other electronic communication methods more effectively with our constituents.  Then I read the new version of RE has eReceipts functionality built into it.  While I'm anxious to work with it and try some things, I'm not extremely hopeful given the limited functionality we've faced with the mail function already.  We currently have had to create a query/export process for our paper receipts because of the limited fields available in the mail module.  For example, we print the constituent's prior 3 months giving history on our receipts, and that isn't an option in mail.  

So I'm wondering if anyone creating eReceipts has had experience doing something in export or even a third party software pacakge that gives the ability to send "e"Receipts?  Or what has your experience been with the RE functionality of eReceipts in Mail?

On a general note, I'm also curious how other organizations have found their constituents responding to the idea of receiving receipts via email vs snail mail?
