Payroll Conversion from 6.42 up to 7.0

    Hello,

We are planning to start our payroll conversion on April 1st.  Hey isn't that April Fools day?

What were your top 3-4 issues that caused you grief when you converted?  For the Schedules will we be able to add them globally or will we need to go into each employee file?  We have 90 staff that are exempt and about 40 part youth that work upto 20 hours during the payperiod.

     Thanks for any input.

    Jeff,

We are also preparing to convert from 6.42 to 7.0 in the upcoming weeks.  Did you convert on schedule?  DId you have any major problems or concerns with your conversion?

Any input you could give would be much appreciated!  Hope it went smoothly for you.

    Hello Corrine,

We have a great IT lady named Sandy that is making this process better than it could be.

Sandy has been working with our data on a test server to work out the kinks ahead of the start of our live conversion scheduled for May 8th.

Our data base has 347 employees with approx 140 active. The conversion takes about seven hours.  Our hardware exceeds the Blackbaud requirements and everything is up to date.  The process takes time.

We have one terminated employee from 2001 that is not converting properly and Sandy has opened a case with Blackbaud.  We are hoping to get a clean conversion in the next couple days and to then run some test reports against our current data and the test data.

We will probably run some YTD reports in both system to compare totals.  If they do not match then we will start reviewing each employee for any differences.

The conversion timeline has been as follows:  4/1 to 4/15 review the conversion steps, pgs 25 - pg 44 of the conversion guide, have Sandy update our software and create the test conversion.  Start with live conversion 5/8.   5/19 Create our first actual payroll.

We have to keep our day to day work up so the above timeline just fits in as possible between on going projects.

Good luck  -  post again as you have questions.
