    Solicitors - assigned to pledges

What is your standard for solicitors who were assigned to a donor and procured a pledge and the solicitor no longer works at your organization?  The solicitor is linked to the pledge and any subsequent payments default to the assigned solicitor at that time. When this solicitor no longer works for the organization or the donor is reassigned do you continue to have the pledge payments linked to the original solicitor or do you link these payments to the newly assigned solicitor?  We do enter a TO date in the relationship which reflects that the solicitor relationship is no longer the primary.  We don't want to loose the history of who brought in the pledge.  But, I am wondering what others do with subsequent payments.  We have had both thoughts - the orignal solicitor continues to get "credit" as the new solicitor may have had nothing to do with the pledge or subsequent payments.

    Thanks, Sandy
