    Pledge Reminder Policy

Hi - I am looking for a sample policy for sending reminders out on outstanding pledges.  Currently, we have actions set-up in the constituent's record which appear on our home-page, but I would like to see how others handle these reminders.  Thank you!

    Re: Pledge Reminder Policy

    Hi there,

We are working on a policy for sending out reminders.  For now, what I do is I run an outstanding pledge report, the one labeled "Not Paid Report".  This report lists those who have installments, and gives a gift date of when their payment installment is due.  I just recently started to set up a tickler alarm in the Action tab, letting me know two weeks before, to prepare a pledge reminder for the donors whose payments are due.  We have very little pledges at the moment, but I figured it's good to have a plan of action in place.Confused Confused

Though I also have a few actions for major gifts which we do not want to send canned pledge reminder to.

For the standard/general pledges:  I run a "pledges outstanding report" once a month.   We then send pledge reminders for payments due.

We also have phone-a-thon pledges which we only remind every 6 weeks at first and then again in May and June, the final 2 months of the FY.  If not paid by then we write them off.  These are not booked by the Finance Department unless paid.
