    Business Rules

This question has to do with the last topic I posted, but its a separate issue, so I'm posting it separately. I was just reviewing our business rules and was wondering how others have decided which rules to select. I'm particulary interested in the option to search for duplicate records when adding and updating constituents. Currently we are not checking for dupe records, which seems silly to me, but I was wondering if there would possibly be any reason not to. Thanks very much.

The only reason I can think of not to do it is that the formatting of the dupe criteria is very limited so you either get a very limited results (not catching all dupes) or get very open results (showing many that are not even close to being dupes) and both can be frustrating. I still use it but wish I could add multiple criteria such as LN 10, FN 5 OR LN 10, ADDR 10 OR SPLN 10, ADDR 10 OR... But no you can only chose one search criteria. *** I can spell, I just can't type. Where is spell check? Melissa S.
