I have been working with Blackbaud over the past two weeks to try to produce my consolidated receipts for monthly donors.
When I try to generate the output file to send off to my mailing house I am getting the message "Automation Error". As I said Blackbaud have been working on this now for about two weeks and are telling me that a patch is in the works for this issue. I have to believe that there are others out there who are trying to achieve the same thing a we are.
Is there anyone else who has seen this problem and if so have you been able to resolve it?
Is there anyone out there who has done consolidated receipts and NOT had this problem?
We are running RE v7.82.1514.5

RB, We enter all (most) gifts through Batch, then use a custom report combining Export and Crystal to print receipts. All gifts falling in the selected Batches are listed and totaled on the final result. It's a bear to set up, but completely automated and flexible for any number of gifts. Call if you like. Mark Do you do consolidated receipts at all? This is where we are having our difficulties. Our one time gift receipts are working fine. RB, We do not use the Raiser's Edge Receipts functionality in RE: Mail because it will either consolidate all gifts within a given batch or query and total them (without itemizing) or give us one acknowledgment letter per gift, per donor. Who wants that? So, we bypass RE: Mail and itemize each gift (based on our batch or query) list each gift, and total them at the end. This is done on ONE gift acknowledgment letter using Crystal. We use an 8.5 x 14 sheet with a 3 inch tear-off at the bottom which contains the gift and tax info. The top 8.5" is for the thank-you letter/correspondence. Mark

We have been using consolidated receipts for regular donors at the year end of each year as well. It works fine for us although it's a bit tedious. Ours is Australia version RE 7.82 now. We have used RE Consolidated receipts for 4 years and have not had problems although there is not a large amount of mail/merge information you can include. We use the custom data file option and are running 7.80.1122 Rosalind Perry Database Administrator Office of Community & Partnerships University of Wollongong Australia +612 42214258
