    Year End Detail Donor Statements

After our first year of acknowledging each gift with a letter, I would like to send a letter containing, or with an attached tax report containing detail on each gift. THis would help us discover any errors that the donor may notice by giving them the detail again in one letter. None of the existing reports seem provide this or allow the flexibility to modify them appropriately. I haven't found anyone who can tell me how to do this. It could be in a mail merge letter or in a separate report.

    Wray,
Are you looking for more than the Annual Statement Report?

There is an Annual Statement Report under the Financial Reports section; have you tried that? It did not have the flexibility we wanted when we started sending statements out 2 years ago, so we created a custom crystal report. But that report is so complex, we are looking into possibly sending the canned Annual Statement next year? We currently send a cover letter along with the statement, but are considering doing away with the letter. You can run the annual statement report and export it as a crystal report, then change some of the wording in Crystal Reports. It is more complex, but that is what I do.

How do you deal with in-kind gift in the annual report? Do you keep the value amount of in-kind gift? Do we need to include the description of in-kind gift?

We don't assign value to the in-kind gifts, and therefore don't send annual statements for them.

We do the same. We keep an internal value (for auditors only) of in-kind but externally, don't publish in-kind with a value Rebecca L. Schafer Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana [Email Removed]
