    Getting data from Banner systems

We are in the process of converting administrative systems from SCT+ to Banner. Admissions tech used to run focus script to extract graduation data into .csv file to import into RE. Not sure how to get data out of Banner when student goes live. Anyone know of any report writer or module or other method besides writing SQL code?

We are in the process of converting to Raisers Edge, our Student Services is converting to Banner. I would appreciate any advice that you may have on how to handle the upload of new graduates from Banner into Raisers Edge.

I do this on a semester basis, and it really depends on how many of your current students you have in RE as to how much of a bugger this is. Last year, we converted to using Banners 8 digit IDs (UA ID) as our constituent ID, and that helped immensly in matching the records that we already had verses the new records coming out of Banner. I actually do three attempts at importing: Banner IDs that match, first name/last name/address matching, and finally just first/last name matching. And out of that, I end up with 2 lists: Ones that have to manually updated, and ones that can be imported as new records. I wrote all the PL/SQL scripts to pull the information out of Banner (I'm an ex-banner programmer :) ), but I'm sure you could get your banner folks to write something for you to do this. Hope this is somewhat helpful, Doug Doug Creek University of Alaska Database Administrator [Email Removed] Get on the bus (Blackbaud User Society)! http://www.blackbus.org
