Suppressing duplicate information linked to a split gift

I have a Crystal Report set up to show the weekly giving or all donors who gave the week before. However, it's hard to read when it comes to split gifts, because the total amount (not the amount given to each fund) comes up, which confuses people. Example, if someone gave $1000 to the gala and membership combined, each line would say $1000 (instead of $500 per fund). Does that make sense? Does anyone know of a way to handle these split gifts? I'm not very good with the formulas (I'm pretty new at Crystal), but if there are any. . .

I have had this problem, with event reports, etc. I made the decision not to enter split gifts. If one donation goes to two funds, I enter them seperately, with the amount to each fund needed. That way, I get a total per fund, not a total per gift, twice. The only drawback we could find is if your facility looks at number of gifts for giving levels, as it will now be two gifts, not one. Simply eliminating entering split gifts keeps me sane (or helps). St. Joseph's Healthcare Foundation Hamilton, Ontario

I don't use split gifts, since I had exactly the same issue. Instead, I add two gifts. But, I just found a solution in the knowledgebase. Not sure if it will help, but here it is: Solution Number: 24416 Applicable Product(s): Raiser's Edge 7, Raiser's Edge Enterprise Solution Title: How to export split gift amounts in the Export module Because gifts can be split among campaigns, funds and appeals, export the split amount from the Campaign, Funds, or Appeals node. For example, to export the split amount for funds: Create a constituent export On the Output tab, select Gifts, Funds, Amount When prompted for the number of funds to export, enter the highest number of splits one gift would have OR Create a gift export On the Output tab, select Funds, Amount When prompted for the number of funds to export, enter the highest number of splits one gift would have Dee Ann Beamon St. John's Episcopal School Dallas, TX

The solution to not getting the total gift amount on both splits is to use the fund split amount which you will find under gifts/funds/fund split amount. I always use this rather than gift amount. It avoids incorrect dollar amounts posting on reports.
