Our data was a mess due to the previous person in this position. I had a lot of clean up to do between the two databases. At this time we are not running the sync between the two databases. I need to test it out in a control environment to see if it would really work or not.

After two years of working unsuccessfully with BB on this utiilty, we have all but given up. We finally figured out that if you were a brand new school, with brand new records, it might work. Existing records in RE and EE just will not sync and link properly no matter the recommendations provided by BB. Good luck is all I can say.

We have integrated RE with EE about 1 1/2 years ago. We are pretty happy with the updating so far. Although we have the occasional issue with updates, we feel it has been well worth it to have common data. The original integration was a tedious procedure. We definitely had issues with the data was kept in each department and had to come to some agreements. We have had RE for about 14 years (or more) and EE for 9 years. Even if it takes a couple of months in the summer to work through the linking process one record at a time (which it might) it is worth it in the end - it was for us anyway.

Elaine,  I have begun working through the RE - EE Integration Planning Guide.  I have a quick question for one of your comments above. You said "Even if it takes a couple of months in the summer to work through the linking process one record at a time (which it might) it is worth it in the end - it was for us anyway."  Was this an "after the actual process" was completed, in the clean-up mode or were you refering to the steps in the planning stages. I recall that after the EE conversion from version 6 to 7, we had IMMENSE clean up and merging of records.  Is this comparable?

Also, how big are your databases, in terms of records.  Our EE database includes roughly 4000 students, 5500 individuals, & 2000 organizations.  Our RE database consists of 27,500 constituents.  We have been through many conversions along the way since we have too been using BB for many, many years.

Any comments or words of advice you can give would be appreciated.  Thanks, Lorie, Lancaster Mennonite School
