    Pledge billing and mail merge forms

    Are you billing for multi-year pledges in-house? Are you using Blackbaud's forms? Are you using a custom form? Our organization is trying to figure out the best path to take for multi-year pledge billing. We need one form that can be used for those who have made a firm pledge with a dollar amount, and those considering a gift of any amount. It needs to be 1/3 of a page reply device. We have an very low-tech Word merge form right now, but it moves around on the page and can't be printed on already-perforated stock. If you're using a custom form, is it pre-printed and then you have a merge document that only fills in the necessary fields? Or do you have a document that prints everything onto blank stock? What program is your merge document in? How do you guarantee that it prints onto the pre-printed stock perfectly?     Faith, We print our receipts on a three part perforated form that is printed using a word merge file. To ensure that information stays where I want it, I use locked text boxes. If you would like, I can send you the merge master document so you can see what I've done. Pat

    We use a preprinted 3 column reminder form. I can send you a hard copy of the form. It was created by our communication department a few years back. If you are using preprinted forms it is critical that the form is measured correctly. The preprinted areas are not exactly 1/3 of a page to allow for printer drag. We have multi year pledges. Column 1 is the total pledge amount, column 2 is the amount paid and column 3 is the amount due. This seems pretty self explanatory to our donors and has been in use for at least 5 years.
