    Batching

We just ran a batch and had a cash donation along with our cheques. It was all set up as usual and all the cheques posted but the cash donation did not post to the donor record. It does not show up on the Batch Commit Control Report but it shows up on the Gift Batch Validation Report. It show up in the total amount on the Batch Entry Log Report. Does any one have any suggestions as to why it is not show up on the donor record.

    Thanks

Hi Joyce- When you validated the batch, you did not receive any errors? I know we had something similar happen here not too long ago, but I wasn't sure why the validation did not catch it, but for us, it was because the record was missing an Appeal code, which is required for us. Thanks Renee, No we did not receive an error message. I could add it to the donor record but I think it would then be counted twice in our totals. Joyce

To try to "find" the gift I would: Look on your batch report and confirm that the gift was added to the exact record that you are looking at (confirm ID number not just name) Run a query of all gifts entered on that day and see if it was entered on another record. Confirm that your gift screen is showing ALL gifts not just a particular type of gift. (using show and/or filter) Confirm that you have the security rights to view such a gift. Confirm that the gift date on the batch report is right (was entered properly). Run a query of all recent cash gifts and see if you can locate it. Melissa S. have you gone back into the batch and checked to see if anything was missing fromthe batch during gift entry that is a required field? That may have prevented it from actually committing but it should have come up as an exception during the batch commit process. Melissa S.
