    Remove a relationship

When a student is not returning or has withdrawn, I know I have to change the parent's status to inactive, but what do I do with the Emergency Contacts? Is it better to remove the relationship rather than change the status to inactive emergency contact like in the case when an active parent is also listed as an emergency contact for a withdrawn student. Thanks.

How do you change a parent's status? I don't see anywhere on the record where the parent has a status. Marilyn Mossman

Sorry I wasnt clear enough. I meant to say the parent's "affiliation".

I'm sorry, I must be dense, but I can't find where "affiliation" is either. Is this a field you created for your school? Marilyn Mossman

The affiliation field is a client-defined drop-down table field located on the Bio1 tab of individual and faculty/staff records. I can see why you would change the student's status and the parent's affiliation but I see no reason why you would ever need to uncheck the Emergency Contact indicator checkbox on the student's Relationship tab.
