    Electrocnic Filing of 1099's

Has anyone used the electronic filing for 1099's? If so, how does it work? Do you get a confirmation that it went through ok? How do you deal with different states? Thanks in advance! Joanne- Accounts Payable

Joanne: The electronic filing provided in Financial Edge works very well. You need to sign up with the IRS in order to Electronically File. Once you are signed up, you will also need to sign up to use the IRS' FIRE system (file 1099s through the Internet). You do not get a confirmation from the IRS if you the file was received correctly. If you want to share the 1099 information with one state or various states, when you sign up for the IRS FIRE system, you can request that the information provided be shared with the states you request. Good luck, Donald Smith

Has anyone had a problem with the vendor first name and last name combining on the report to the IRS when using the backslash feature? If so, is there a solution?
