Does anyone have a membership program where they only offer individual memberships where each spouse is the primary member of their own membership? One of our affiliates wants to stop offering joint memberships and I am concerned about duplicates during exports/mailings if I have spouses with their own membership records. Our current setup is having one membership with one spouse being Primary member and the other spouse linked as a Joint member. Any information would be appreciated. We have this sort of individual only membership and if both spouses wanted to be a member they would both pay the fees and then both have their own membership record.
We don't actually have any couples where both people are have a membership but I do have a solicit code set up to filter one of them out of mailings (a more reliable solution than Head of Household processing I think) if they have the same membership and the mailing is just for information. If the mailing is to provide benefits then they would both be included.
We don't use exports very often so I haven't tried to find a solution there.
