Does anyone use the Export feature to export and create a custom invoice in crystal reports? I am trying to figure out how to do this without having to engage BB with consulting to write our very unique invoices. The problem I'm running into seems to be that when you export invoices it doesn't allow you to export address info for the client. Jeff Roberts Kingdom Building Ministries Denver

We also have very unique invoice, more of a invoice/statement combination. I created 3 queries: 1 client query to get the address and client balance, and 1 transaction query to get the transactions in a date range. These queries are exported to Excel. I also created an Access database which the excel files are imported into. (The database is necessary so the files can link.)Then I created a crystal report using the database. It was a very involved and tedious process, but the end result is great and easily executed. Execution would be easier if I could export directly to an existing Access database table, but that option is not available yet. Laura May Council on Aging of Southwestern Ohio

Laura, Thank you for your great input. I so appreciate you taking the time to offer this! Do you then go back into AR and change the invoice status to "printed"? Jeff

No I don't bother with that. Since we always invoice thru the crystal report, there are no ill effects to the not printed status. You could use the printed status at the time you create the invoices, if the not printed status is a problem for you. Laura May Counicl on Aging of Southwestern Ohio
