ADP has a General Ledger Intergace Product called GLInterface that works quite well with Financial Edge. This product allows you to import your ADP payroll information directly into Financial Edge. The payroll information is imported into the General Ledger as a Journal Entry. The best place to start is to contact your ADP representative about the product. We use projects and it take just a few minutes for us to load our ADP data directly into the General Ledger.

Who did you work with at ADP. We are in discussion now and they seem to be a little lost about the projects. Any help will be greatly appreciated --- Edited at 4/9/2007 5:37:44 PM by Lisa Zekany

I dont recall a particular person we spoke to. I do know that it is a standard product that ADP markets. I have attached a one page overview of the product. We bought the producy out of the ADP Boston Office. We did need to also work with our Blackbaud account manager in setting it up. Your Blackbaud Account Manager should be familiar with the product also.

I was unable to get to the document you attached. I went through an ADP demonstration yesterday. When you are entering payroll, where do you put the project that is associated with employee? Do you do this in adp or after the payroll file has been send to you? I really appreciate any help you can give.

We are in the middle of the same process. Do you have to allocate your employees time across projects? ADP has told me they have to have an interface that will crunch this calculation before it's imported into our GL. We use projects and we have ADP PayExpert. Are you downloading from ADP payroll or from their online time sheet system?

We will be using the web based adp and typing in the info for hours. We have employees distributed among projects and different cost centers. Were they able to create an intereface that allows you to import in your project information? If so where is the project information recorded on the employees payroll record or payroll entry? How long have you been using ADP or are you just converting?

My understanding from them is that they cannot accomodate the distribution needs directly from their payroll system. They offered to build an interface. We ran into a problem trying to identify an ADP online timesheet system that was affordable, flexible enough for employees working across projects and user friendly. We are now at the point of using a different online timesheet system that will have the interface built into it. It's become very complicated. Feel free to contact me directly. Working with ADP

THe process starts by ADP linking your payroll departments and cost centers. Then they build an interface that maps these departments and cost centers to your General Ledger. All the work is done in the setup of the interface. They will ask for your chart of accounts and a list of projects. Once they have that information they can work with you to develop the interface. We have 300 employees distributed among several departments and we can import our payroll directly into the General Ledger. It takes time to set it up but ADP does the setup for you. The product is relatively new to ADP so there may be some representatives that are not entirely familiar with it. If you would like to email me directly please do so at .
