I'm running a simple donor category report and would like to know how many gifts were given within the levels I've designated. The report is giving me total donors. Any suggestions? Another report?

You've got the right report. In order for the donor category report to break things down by groups/giving clubs you need to establish those groups by going to config/tables/donor categories 1, 2, or 3. Take either donor category 1, 2, or 3 and create your groups/giving levels. You will then take this information and base your donor category report on whichever donor category table of 1,2. or 3 that you chose to enter your club/level info on. In your report on the 7.Format Tab, click on Detail, then where it says Use Donor Category Table, choose either 1,2,0r 3 , whichever one you chose to create your giving levels/clubs on. Hope that's what you were looking for.

I thought I had the "right" report too. I've already done my tables, etc. and run the report. I'm looking for total #of gifts within those levels and it's giving me total#of donors only. I'm wondering if there is another report that would give me the #of gifts.

The number of donors at that level would be the correct number of gifts for the category. If someone makes five pledge payments to reach the min. level of the category it still would only amount to one gift because if only four payments were made this person would not be in the category to begin with. I hope this makes since. If for whatever reason, you actually need the number of gift you could create a query based on the gift summary total for each donor catregory level and then run the gift detail report for each query you created.Gift detail gives the number of gifts but not sorted by donor level category. I have created a Giving Clubs on the Dashboard. It shows each donor category level, number of donors, number of gifts, total gift amount,% of total and % gift amount. I have it based upon this years activity only. Another solution could be a pivot table report based upon your query Don Sabo
