    Development Position Open - Newark, NJ

    Catholic Health and Human Services Development Associate Scope of Position: As a key member of a growing Development team, the Development Associate’s primary responsibilities are processing donor contributions, inquiries and information updates, research new prospects, produce basic financial reports and mailing lists, and assist in special event logistics. Direct Supervisor: Director of Development Responsibilities: • Handle gift processing, data entry, and acknowledgment of revenue received. • Work with Development and Finance on monthly income reconciliation. • Process updates and changes to donor and prospect information. • Address all donor inquiries received via phone, fax, mail and email. • Provide database support to the Development Officer, and other staff and volunteers as requested. • Assist Development on current and future fundraising initiatives – including, but not limited to direct response and donor stewardship projects. • Assist in special event logistics as needed. • Maintain department print materials; ensure that all correspondence is current. • Other duties as assigned. Performance Standards 1. Assure that all internal office deadlines are met. 2. Acknowledge all gifts within 48 hours of receipt. 3. Provide regular reports to Development on status of data entry, acknowledgments and donor communications. 4. Continue to maintain knowledge of software used. Make recommendations for change to procedures as necessary and appropriate. 5. Assure all reports requested are provided by the specific date needed. Qualifications/ Skills/ Abilities: 1. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in regards to work performed. 2. Ability to set priorities and work independently as well as in a team. 3. Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure in a multi-task environment with time and resource constraints; strong time-management and organization skills; ability to manage several projects simultaneously. 4. Solid interpersonal, organizational and communication skills – both oral and written. 5. Good customer service skills. 6. Experience in the non-profit sector preferred. 7.
