Tracking address corrections in an appeal

Hi, I'm a new user and have a question -- okay, I have lots of questions but I'll start with one! We just did our year-end appeal and I globally added the appeal to about 4000 records. The money is rolling in and so are the address corrections. We are changing the addresses in our database to reflect the new address but I know that these people didn't receive the appeal. Is there a way to show this other than to pull the appeal from their record? That would get my donors/solicited rate down.

    Thanks,

Tracking address corrections in an appeal

My question to you is how many returns are you getting back? We purchased the NCOA update from Blackbaud and the first time we sent out a mailing after we cleaned up our addresses we got back around 100 letters from a mailing of over 10,000. No one at our organization cares about how many were returned, but your organization might be different. When you change the address do you resend the letter to the person? Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. We have gotten about 200 back from our mailing -- we printed the "Address Correction Requested" line on our envelopes. Because of the date sensitive nature of the appeal, we are not planning to resend, although I plan to send a follow-up letter in a few months to those who did not respond. Lauren
