    Comparing Fields in Query Criteria

I am looking for a way to compare two fields as query criteria. For instance, I want to do an action query to pull closed actions where the action date does not equal the completed date. Any suggestions would be much appricated.

This is not currently possible using the RE front end. What most people do is run as much of the query in RE as they can and then export to either Excel or Access to do the rest of the filtering. At this point, they may run an Import to update the Actions, so that they can create a static query to further process the records. I'm actually more inclined to use MS SQL's Query Analyzer tool in these situations, because I don't have to do all of the exporting and importing, although I sometimes do have to do an import to get a static query to work with. As Drew mentioned, it isn't possible to do this type of comparison in RE. However, it sounds like you are trying to keep track of any actions not completed in the day they are created. You didn't mention if this is ongoing or a one-time look-see. If it is ongoing, I might add a status of One Day Completion so I can filter these out if necessary. For me, I like to look at what I need to do frequently and put policy into place that allows for doing this. However, if this is just a one-time thing, comparing outside of RE is the option to use. I would set up an export (in the Blackbaud Report Writer Database format) and then create a custom report (using Crystal Reports for Blackbaud) to set up the report query. That way, you just run the custom report and when the export is rfreshed, you put in the date / date range or whatever paramenter you are using and get the output as a crystal report output - with just one click.
