    workaround for broken comparisons/summaries report?

I'm trying to pull a comparative giving by membership category report for the last couple of years, but it doesn't work. (see solution BB247508 for details). Basically it's giving me ungodly large sums for categories--incorrect numbers to the point where for one level it says $400,000 last year when the correct answer is more like $46,000. Not really a mistake you can overlook.

I spoke to support, and they said the current workaround is rerunning the report over and over again for a single level at a time. which, considering I have five areas of giving to look at, means running about 40 reports.

Have any of you found a workaround of some sort?

Currently I'm not bothering with specific levels. Rather, I'm doing a membership statistics by category for all the membership categories that are involved, creating a constituent output query to grab all the people in those levels during that time, and then using that query as a source to create giving reports based on the areas of giving we're looking for.
