I am trying to schedule 2 half credit courses in a school that is full year with 3 trimesters (ie the ontario ministry of education required civics and guidance) Any suggestions how best to accomplish this task?

We also use trimesters. We would either put the course name, grade and credit value in the notes section of the transcript or schedule the course in one of the trimesters and assign a 0.5 credit value in the grading setup of the course. Jennifer Frim, Registrar The Wellington School

When I was in high school we had half year courses in a trimester system. It was handled by having six marking periods compose the year. Each trimester consisted of two marking periods and the half year courses met for three marking periods. At the end of the first marking period "estimated grades" we issued to families in every course. At the end of the second marking period, trimester grades were issued in the appropriate courses and a report of progress issued in the half year courses. At the end of the third marking period, a final grade and comment issued in the half year courses and the .5 credit posted and estimated grades were issued in the other courses. It is a bunch of reporting periods (I have never heard of a family complaining about too many reporting periods) but it enables this senario to be scheduled.

I have set up both courses to be taught in the same time period with GLC start term is Term I and for CHV the start term is Term III because this is how they are being taught. Therefore on the timetable for term I & II it shows one course and in term III it shows both. This way I can pick them up both for the final grading and report cards. It seems to work fine so far.
