    Stock control

We're looking at finding a way of integrating stock control with RE - we run a bookshop and also sell photographic prints. Currently a variety of different spreadsheets are used and they aren't yet integrated to RE. Anyone got any good solutions out there? Thanks a lot Lois The Photographers' Gallery London [Email Removed]

    Stock control

Raiser's Edge is a fund-raising database, not an e-commerce database. You're trying to force a square peg into a round hole. You might eventually be able to do it, but you'll probably have pulled all of your hair out by the time that you accomplish it. Save yourself a lot of headaches and stop trying to force RE into something that it wasn't designed for. Drew J. Stock control

Thanks you for your comments. I'm fully aware what Raiser's Edge is good at, and have already explained to my colleagues that it is not the right tool to keep track of stock. But what I'm looking for is a stock control system that can 'talk' to Raiser's Edge. For instance, if we know from RE that 15 people have bought item code TPG015 then can I save someone re-entering that data in the stock control sheet? I guess an export and import is probably the answer, but I wondered if anyone else does something more cunning? Lois The Photographers' Gallery London [Email Removed]
