New "Save" button in FAWeb comments

Does anyone else think it is strange that the "save" and "save and close" buttons on the FAWeb7 comments screen don't actually save anything? Apparently this is "by design". We have had several teachers lose a whole class of comments because they did not realize that they still had to press save on the main screen of the gradebook to send their comments to the database.

In addition there should be a save button when entering notes in FAWeb7. Clicking the OK buton does not reset the system for 20 more minutes before it times out and you lose all of your work. It would also be nice if quotes and apostrophies did not appear as question marks on report cards when advisor notes are pasted into FAWeb7. The only solution we found is to open the note in EE and resave the note. For some reason that solves the problem but adds unnecessary work.

We too have experienced this problem. The end result is that most faculty are savvy enough to hit SAVE and not OK, but yes, those more literal of faculty are losing stuff. AUTOSAVE would be an incredible innovation. And I say that with a measure of sarcasm because, of course we all know, that autosave is no earth-shattering innovation. We have also had numerous problems with sessions not completely releasing in SQL, IIS and FAWeb. Big problem at the moment that is causing the entire system to yield errors. I have a very frustrated faculty and administration and we are beginning to question a future with this program.
