    Exporting to Word

For those who are using Crystal Reports 8.5 for Blackbaud, are you able to export into a Word for Windows document? We cannot and desperately need to. I only have the option of Word (exact) format and it doesn't do the trick. I called Blackbaud support but they told me it would cost $200 to answer my question! Any help is greatly appreciated. Word (exact) is the only option I have seen. I would be curious to know what they will tell you for $200. I export my reports to PDFs, it's perfect for distribution. I don't have the need to edit them, which is what I am guessing you are looking to do. Denise Stengl School Sisters of St. Francis Milwaukee, WI [Email Removed]

Thanks, Denise, for confirming my fears. At my last two jobs, I was able to use the full version of Crystal and not the one packaged with RE7, so I wasn't aware of the fact exporting to Word for Windows was not an option. And you are right, we need to be able to edit a document. I have the full version of Crystal on my home computer, guess that's a good excuse to go home! I, too, have only seen the word (exact) option when exporting reports. However, you can edit a pdf if you have Adobe Acrobat rather than just the reader. Maybe there is a copy of Acrobat floating around your office that would solve the problem? It's probably worth asking around for. Exporting to Word

Hello Dee and All- We had the exact thing happen here too, I had to include the following dll file in the WINNT/CRYSTAL folder, u2fwordw.dll, this was the fix I finally found after numerous searches on the internet. Do a search on your folders, you should have another copy of it somewhere, then just copy it to the other folder. I think this is how it went, I am trying to find that exact fix on the internet now and am having no luck. I should have saved a hard copy of it!!! Let me know if this helps. Thanks, Renee A. Thanks for the tip on the dll. I'll see if I can find it. I'd done some searching and found one that added the Word exact format, but not this one. We ended up having to export in txt format and then re-formatting and editing. Fortunately, the edits and re-formats were minor, but it was really frustrating to know it could be done, just not in the version Blackbaud supplies.
