    Checking timesheets

Should the payroll person check behind supervisors to ensure timesheets are added up correctly before entering them? I am inclined to say no, but we have been doing just that and find many errors. Do other places do this or is the timesheet deemed correct if it has the supervisor's signature?

Our payroll person always checks - and often finds mistakes (as I personally know!). Trish Morgan Associate Director Pathways Hospice Foundation [Email Removed]

    Checking timesheets

Our timesheets are checked by our Executive Director and by the person that enters them into the system to ensure that they are done correctly. If there are any errors then the timesheet is given back to the person and asked to correct it or explain what they have done or how they came up with there total hours on there timesheet. Checking timesheets

We have excel sheets that I created with validation tables. I had the date field just so the person could key in any date, but unfortunately I was getting lots of bad dates --- so now I have a validation list on every cell. Staff select the correct item off the list, email their timesheet to the supervisor, who then reviews and submits to finance for payment. Some supervisors review more closely than others so finance does have to do some checking. Finance then creates a monster spreadsheet with everyone's time and we import to payroll to keep from re-keying. When Payroll v7 becomes more stable and we make the switch, then we are creating groups. Each staff person will key in their hours to the payroll module, supervisors will have access to their staffs' timesheets for review, finance will do a last review and then process for payment. I just wish v7 would hurry up.

    Checking timesheets

We don't worry about calculation issues because we currently use an internet based timesheet system. Our administrative assistant of human resources does check the timesheets to make sure that employees do not "forget" to put their paid time off on their timesheets.

Which internet based timesheet system do you use and how well does it integrate with your payroll system?
