    Outlook synchronization with RE

Is anyone using this feature of synchronization. Could you please let me know the outcome of this feature? Is it helpful? Do you have to give more rights to the database users? Rupinder kaur Database Administrator Cancer Research Institute

I use the synchronization between Outlook and RE all the time. You can only "sync" from RE to Outlook. It is based off queries. You build a constituent query or Individual query and go into options and figure if you want to be known as a new contact list or current. Also, it pulls tasks and calendar, appeals, and event information with it. I love it and have done emailings a lot easier that way. It pulls all address information. Abput giving someone mores rights. I think that all they need to do is to be able to build a query.

    Outlook synchronization with RE

It would be great to have that information come over to outlook correctly. If you attempt to synchronize an individual (who is not linked to an organization but has business info on their BUSINESS tab), the Business address in RE comes into Outlook as the HOME address - and it doesn't copy the position or Organization Name. Home address and Business addresses in RE should come over to Outlook correctly (Business address = Business in Outlook), with the preferred mailing address indicator as well. It can't be THAT hard to fix this... Blackbaud has no current plans to fix this MASSIVE error (I cant' let my development team sync their RE/outlook as they'll get either NO information or WRONG information). Feel free to Add your name to the list of people who'd like this changed. KB Article: BB100766 If you have developed a solution, please let me know.
