    Recognition name format standards

We have been struggling with setting a standard format for names on our recognition lists. For example, when do you use "Mr. Jones and the late Mrs. Jones"; is it acceptable to say "Mr. and Mrs. Jones" who donated when both were alive but one or both are now deceased; what about when you have names and an associated business, etc? These questions come up every year when we publish donors in our annual report. Guidance would be greatly appreciated.

When it has to do with Mr and Mrs and one or both are deceased we put an asterisk next to the name. One the bottom of the page we put: * - deceased. However I am not quite sure how you would handle names and associated business. Kitri Steigerwald Donor Relations Specialist ADA Foundation Chicago, IL
