I was curious as to how other membership organizations handle memberships paid by foundations ( community foundations, private family foundations etc.) Since gifts from foundations usually state that no goods or services can be received how do you handle this? Do you send a letter stating that they are not able to receive benefits or do you send this letter and request that in order to receive benefits, they must pay the amount that is considered the cost of goods in services on top of what they have already sent in?
