We are having a confusing time trying to manage constituents who are married, but have different mailings addresses. For these particular constituents, we created separate records for them and linked them as spouses. However, only one of them can be tagged as the HEAD OF HOUSEHOLD.

We want to process a mailing where we use the HEAD OF HOUSEHOLD function because we have constituents who are ALUMNI MARRIED TO ALUMNI and ALUMNI MARRIED TO STAFF MEMBER and want these constituents to only receive one mailing. The problem we have are with the constituents who are married but have separate mailing addresses.

I also tried to do segmenting mailing, but because only one of the spousal records can have the HEAD OF HOUSEHOLD field checked, the other record will not pull.

I'd appreciate any suggestions on how we can create a mailing that will include the constituent types listed above (alumni married to alumni to receive 1 mailing, alumni married to staff to receive one mailing, and married constituents with separate addresses to receive a mailing each).

I have a solicit code called "Send mail to both spouse" which I use it as a filter during mailings. Each spouse should have the code. The first segment is mailed using the "Mail to Head of Hoousehold", records with solicit code "send to both" being removed through the filter tab, and the second segment (a query of those who have this solicit code) are mailed using the "Send to Both" option.
