Have you successfully integrated RE and FE?

If your organization meets the criteria below I am interested in learning about your experience with the RE/FE integration. 1-Fully integrated RE and FE and uses Projects 2-A national organization with multiple sites/office 3-All donations are recorded by the central office 4-Has some donors who give to multiple offices/sites/departments within the organization 5-a grant received may be designated for restricted and unrestricted purposes We've been working on our integration for about 5 months and haven't gotten out all of the wrinkles. I would really appreciate hearing from you if you meet the criteria above. Thanks, Leena Jones Leena Anderson Jones Database Manager, NFTE 120 Wall Street. 29th Floor New York, NY 10005 (212) 232-3333 ext. 381 [Email Removed]

We may not match all of your criteria, but I'm curious how your integration is faring....we've got some deep wrinkles of our own. regina

It's not ideal but it's working. What are your issues?

We were "integraged" with Academy Manager way back when. Then we upgraded to EE v7 which disconnected all integration. The upgrade to ee v7 created an explosion of address records. The cleanup has been, and still is, painful. We upgraded in July of 06, and I'm probably 50% re-integrated. We should have had a fulltime person, well educated in the lore of RE/EE, to assign the task of re-integration. This has been, and continues to be, one of the most painful experiences we've had with Blackbaud. You MUST. 1) have your tables in sync with RE and EE 2) have a process defined for every kind of data you enter. ie: streets. do you abbreviate or not? Phone format. Phone Types, shared or not? 3) clean up all address records in EE and RE so the right people share the right address. 4) organizations? man I haven't even gone there, but I plan to. My consultant told me to "start with the Academy matches that don't have conflicts". Wrong. Just because the Integration screen says no conflicts, don't assume you can automatically link them. You MUST look at each record. I have 7800 records in EE. Anyone looking for a job? :-) I'm not kidding, we are going to hire a "Data Curator" and this is one of the reasons why. Have fun. -- Gray Huggins Director of Technology Bishop Lynch High School
