What types of supervisory maintenance needs to be done to the RE system other than running backups and and validation reports?

1) I run a query of blank address lines (or address line 1) and No Valid Address is No. This shows me that the person's address is invalid, but the No Valid Address box had not been checked. Vice versa, address line is not blank and No Valid Address is Yes shows me that we have an address, but the box was not unchecked. (2) We do not the United States to appear in our country field and on our addresses, yet do want other countries to show up. So I run a query that will show me a Preferred Address with United States in the country field so I can delete it. (3) I also run a query that tells me records with a blank title. (4) I would like to run a query that would show me Addressee/Salutations that say Mrs. & Mr., but I don't think we have that option yet. I think that is going to work in 7.6 Hope this helps. I have maintenance queries that I run to search for common mistakes. For Example:

* Missing or mismatched appeals/campaigns on gifts
* Constituents with no gender specified (I global change everyone with Ms., Mrs. Miss, etc. to Female for example)
* Missing Constituency Codes
* Missing Solicit Codes
* Missing Counties on Addresses
etc.

In addition to those I would also run a duplicate constituent report. Melissa R. Scott

We are in the process of implementing a quality improvement "auditing" system on our data entry. Not only will it help us keep our database clean, but it will promote accuracy and the importance of our database integrity. We will use the auditing as a part of their job evaluations as well. The auditing form takes into account accuracy, speed, and procedure. If someone is making mistakes in the same area all the time, we assume it is a procedural problem and change the procedure. However, if someone is making errors across the board, then we know they need more indepth training. We ran our first data entry auditing process a week ago and was very interesting to see how many mistakes or things that have been forgotten to be added into an account. We use defaults but when it's manual, we're seeing inconsistencies. --- Edited at 10/6/2003 11:35:49 AM by

We are going to implement a weekly test of our back-ups. Is anyone else who has a scheduled test of the back-up in place willing to share your procedures for testing? Thanks. --- Edited at 10/8/2003 4:48:54 PM by rrosengren
