I would appreciate knowing how that works out. I have been told that I can only get home departments when using Reportsmith.

    Outsourcing Payroll

Once payroll is processed, but before you start a new cycle, a report can be created which pulls information from the payroll batches using the paydata table (it would pull temporary departments if you have them in your payroll batches). However, you can't go back and pull information once a new cycle is started. But I don't see that to be a problem if each pay, I save the file in another format (excel) and export the file into another folder. I have only tested this method on two employees - one salaried and one hourly. It works GREAT for the hourly employees, however once temporary departments are entered for the salaried people in the payroll batch, it overrides their automatic pay. Therefore, I had to manually enter the earnings for the salaried employee. It’s a little more work on payroll processing day, but it's less of a pain than the massive spreadsheet that we create to allocate our employee's pay by actual departments worked. Also, ADP just informed me that they are piloting a new feature, which they call NOS (I am unsure of the spelling - I was told this over the phone). It allows you to create labor distribution reports using reportsmith. With the new feature, instead of receiving the checkview file, you will receive a file that includes all the labor distributions. I have asked to be considered for the pilot group, and have not yet heard back from ADP.
