    Action

I am fairly new to this system and want to know if there is a way to update actions on a several different prospects or constiguents at one time.

If all the constituents can be gathered by a query (or merge queries), then you can do a global change (to update actions) or global add (to add actions_ - under the Admin menu. But be very sure you know what you are doing and try it out with one or 2 constituents before doing the global adds or changes. Of course, you'll need to have the appropriate security settings. Hope this helps. Raja Mukherjee Database Manager & Coordinator of Prospect Research Worcester State College Worcester, MA [Email Removed]

If you're going to do any kind of global change on Actions, you MUST use an Action Query, otherwise there's a risk it'll scramble other actions with similar features.

For instance, if you query on Constituents that have actions with a particular date and a particular status, and then do a global change on the status, it'll change all actions with the relevant status on those constituents, regardless of date, which could obviously include ones you don't want changing. If you do an Action query, it just changes the exact group of actions you want.

You can do a global add using a Constituent/Ind/Org Query though.

    Regards
