Online Training VS E-Library

Does anyone have an opinion of what type of training you feel is better? We are in the process of doing the budget for next year and I have to say what training courses I would like to attend, but our Blackbaud Rep suggested that we purchase the E-Library component instead of me using the online training. For us it is either one or the other, not both. I am interested in taking the following online courses: Database Doctor, Advance Importing, and Event Management. Has anyone taken these courses, and if so how were they? Any information that can help me make a decision would be much appreciated. --- Edited at 10/26/2005 10:34:12 AM by Scott Fortnum

Dana- Where did you find the information for the online courses? I just looked around online and didn't see them, what are Database Doctor and the others, are they online training? Thanks

If you go on blackbaud's website and click on Training, then online training then select Instructer Led training, there is a list of courses, descriptions and prices for those courses on there. Hope that helps.

We have the e-Learning library and I have taken two of the courses you mention - the Advanced Importing and Event Management. To be honest, I find eLearning Library more helpful. With the on-line courses, I find that what I am getting is exactly like the eLearning sessions, but I have to do it on BB's schedule. I have gotten more out of the eLearning library combined with calling Tech Support. Although there is a live person at the other end of the line in the on-line classes, they don't have the time to give individualized advice or suggestions. I agree with Trish's assessment. Additionally, if you are looking for more bang for your buck then e-learning is available to all the users of RE, so you can provide training to all your users instead of just those taking the e-line class. If you choose the on-line class just have everyone gather around the pc and listen in. Elaine Elaine Tucker Texas Lutheran University
