Dear All, I work for an higher ed, and was wondering how you account for trusts in RE? I imagine that one might enter it as a pledge, but what happens, when the remainder of the trust, after they are deceased, is valued lower than the origanl amount. Any guidance would help. I used to work at a University and they kept track of trusts and planned giving on the prospect/proposal tab. They used type of gift to record: CGA, CRAT, CRUT, etc. There was a proposal attribute that they used to record if it was revocable or not. Then whenever the gift came in, it was simply entered into RE and linked to the proposal. I hope this information is helpful. Elisabeth McMillon Database Administrator The Oregon Zoo Foundation
