We built an access database that converts our file from the bank to a qif file. In order to do this we had to buy an add in product for access call Data Flow Manager. Once we had figured out what to do it now only takes about 4 minutes to do the whole process. WE start with exporting the outstanding A/P checks and Payroll checks to two excel spread sheets then. We import them into Access and run a macro, then do the add in to export them. If you would like I could tell you how we did this over the phone or via email. My phone number is 607-735-1919. We download the bank's file into an old Quicken program and then export those transactions as a QIF file. We do a small amt of clean-up like getting rid of commas, etc and then upload it into Financial Edge. It works like a charm.

I am too interested in learning about converting a .csv file to a .qif file. Our bank only lets me to download information in a .csv format. Robi, I am interested in learning more about the Access macro you are using. Would you drop me an email at [Email Removed]? I wonder how much it costed your organization to buy this and how user friendly it is to set-up and actually run it. I also did a quick google search and found a macro called CALC2QIF that runs in OpenOffice: http://xl2qif.chez-alice.fr/calc2qif_en.php  Is anyone out there who are using this and kind enough to share some info about this product? Lastly, what are the required or needed fields in the .qif file? Are headings needed? If so, what do I need to name them? Thanks in advance, Ji Kim Lutheran Family Services Email: [Email Removed]
