    Downloading information into RE

I would love to talk to someone who already has NetCommunity up and running. We are just about to go live and I'm struggling with the download of the profile into RE. I been running a lot of tests it's just not going well. Maybe I'm not looking at this in the right light or my logic is off somehow - so I'd like to talk to a current user and see how it is working for them. Carol, We just finished up with an event using NetCommunity. Over 5,000 people registered. 70% of donations went through Net before the event. All of this information was integrated with RE. This included creating new constituents, processing gifts and making changes, plus much more. To involved to explain over an email so feel free to contact me. I have lots to tell. Liz, we would love to talk to you about your experience. We go live with Netcommunity this month and can't wait. We especially want to know how you got such a high % using the online registration. That is our goal. Maybe you can email me your phone, etc? My email address is [Email Removed].

How did you get 5,000 people to register for an event? I've been upset with BBNC because the event registration fields don't ask NEARLY enough information (i.e., Org name, business email, etc). And you can't get someone to create a profile AND register for an event in one step (you have to approve the BBNC record first - which is just awful). Seriously, who tells people, "register your information into our website, but then come back tomorrow to register for the event?" Joe, I was thinking the same thing so I imported all 40,000 users and gave them an ID/password that we used on our old site. You might consider asking BB to load yours in with a derived userid and password. That way, you can send an invitation out and include their UserID and password. Tom

I'm guessing Blackbaud did the import for you (at a fee?), because I asked "can I import people into BBNC" so I could just what you mentioned, and the response was "no." Is that the case? I'm interested in the SDK for the custom parts to see if I can ask all the registration questions I want (Org name, emails, etc), when I have someone registering for an event. THAT would be great. Joe, That was included in my upfront installation. I prepared the import file (.CSV) and they uploaded it for me. They were online with me for about a half hour or so. Since you are not taking up a lot of their time, I don't see how the cost could be very high. If you look at the efficiencies you gain later on, it is well worth it. One warning however, I wouldn't make the userid something that is easy to figure out for all of your constituents. If someone figures out how you named every one, they can use the "Forgot Password" feature to get their E-mail addresses.
