    Posting to GL by Date

I'm new to posting to the GL. Our Finance office just recently converted to FE - and I (RE) have only posted to GL once so far. Is there any way to post to the GL by date? It seems to me that it will automatically post everything that says Not Posted. I would love it if I could just say post gifts that say Not Posted from 10/1/03 to 10/31/03. All help/suggestions is appreciated. Sharln Chapman Manager of Records and Reports Lutheran Family Services in the Carolinas www.lfscarolinas.org

How has this been going? We have recently upgraded from AFN to FE and our Development Office just now has started using RE. We have yet to link the 2 and any input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks Angela Tuttle NCSA Foundation [Email Removed]

This information may be old to you by now but we started posting to FE from RE last spring. The key points are: 1) We post via Batch so there is a Gift Batch Number associated with each gift. 2) When we post we select gift records using an "Ask" query where we specify the batch number. (A print out of the query is below.) 3) At posting we also specify the date on the Gift tab. . Posting to GL by Date

Hi Sharln, We have RE and Fe integrated. We post to the GL by date. We actually do each a gift batch for each day of mail. When we post to the GL, we choose Gift Date on the second tab and choose specific range. We enter the same date in each block as we post per batch which is per gift date. We have the latest versions of FE and RE. I hope this helps. Nora Isaac Manger, Information Technology ALS Association, Greater Philadelphia Chapter [Email Removed]

On tab 2-GIFTS- you can select range for 10/1 to 10/31. You can also post to the GL using an RE query of gifts not posted from 10/1 to 10/31. An aside - we began posting to the GL (July 1, 05)so to clear all prior gift activity from be included in my first days post, I did a global change to mark all prior years gifts to DO NOT POST. We have been using RE & FE for several months now and still have not linked the 2 up. We have so many questions and little help from the higher ups. Currently I have been importing daily gifts "batches" into FE and posting using the following info: gl account number post date credit/debit amount journal source donor project When it is finally decided that we can link the two will this same information still come across? Hi Angela - We recently linked FE and RE - it's been about a month now, and so far we're thrilled with how it's working. As long as your GL#s are entered correctly on the funds in RE, your credits/debits/GL#s should be fine (and yes - all the info comes through to FE) Your post date and amount will come through and the project number comes through as long as it is also set-up correctly on the fund in RE. Your journal souce is set up in the configuration in RE. We are not pulling the donor name into FE, but there may be a way to accomplish that in the configuration/detail settings. Hope this helps! Feel free to contact me directly if you have any additional questions we can help with! - Kim [Email Removed] Kim Strollo [Email Removed] 239-262-0304 x240 Database and Prospect Research Coordinator Conservancy of Southwest Florida
